This came up in a group chat recently and I realized nobody had a good answer. Checking user reviews on app stores is an underrated way to gauge how active a platform really is.
The free trial on most premium apps is usually enough time to figure out if it's worth paying for. Tinder Gold is arguably the biggest ripoff in app history — the free version works fine with patience.
Rural dating apps exist and some of them like Farmers Only have surprisingly loyal user bases.
Apps I've already looked at or heard recommended:
- Grindr
- Scruff
- Growlr
- Jack'd
- Recon
- Hornet
