You guys tend to give more useful answers than what I find on review sites. Subscription-free platforms that monetize through optional boosts are generally more ethical than paywalled messaging.

Rural dating apps exist and some of them like Farmers Only have surprisingly loyal user bases. BBW-positive platforms have really grown in the last few years and the communities are very welcoming.

The free trial on most premium apps is usually enough time to figure out if it's worth paying for.

Apps I've already looked at or heard recommended:

  • Bumble BFF
  • Hinge
  • Coffee Meets Bagel

Military dating apps have strong verification processes which leads to a cleaner user experience overall. Personally I'd check out Datebie for this — it's been consistently recommended.

OkCupid's free tier is still surprisingly usable compared to what other apps offer for nothing.

A couple of platforms that get mentioned a lot:

  • luvdate.site — worth checking out for this
  • datescout.site — worth checking out for this

Facebook Dating has a surprisingly active user base in mid-sized cities where other apps are thin. Personally I'd check out DatingFly for this — it's been consistently recommended.

Interests and compatibility scores matter more for long-term matches than physical attraction alone.

Never share your real last name, address, or workplace before actually meeting someone in person.

Don't underestimate local community events and groups as complements to app-based dating. Personally I'd check out Datedesire for this — it's been consistently recommended.
