Tested a few already and wanted to compare notes with people who've spent more time on these. Traditional dating websites with long-form profiles attract a more serious and committed user base.
The algorithm on most apps rewards consistent daily use over occasional passive swiping sessions. Plenty of Fish still has one of the largest active user bases despite the platform feeling dated.
Christian Mingle has a genuinely active user base for faith-focused relationship seekers.
Things I keep in mind for safety:
- Separate email addresses for dating activity is just good basic digital hygiene.
- Photo verification features are the most useful safety tool any modern dating platform offers.
- A VPN helps with general browsing privacy but isn't a complete anonymity solution.
- Payment requests from any match should always be treated as a scam regardless of the story.
