This came up in a group chat recently and I realized nobody had a good answer. Free dating apps have genuinely improved but the best features are still locked behind paywalls on most of them.
Bumble's time limit on matching creates a sense of urgency that leads to more actual conversations. Tinder Gold is arguably the biggest ripoff in app history — the free version works fine with patience.
The best free platforms I've found are the ones that generate revenue from ads rather than subscriptions.
Apps I've already looked at or heard recommended:
- Tinder
- Bumble
- Hinge
- Feeld
