Review sites are all over the place on this — figured I'd get straight answers here. Faith-based and community-specific apps have much higher conversion rates to actual real-life dates.

Match.com is still considered a gold standard for serious relationship seeking despite the cost. Free dating apps have genuinely improved but the best features remain locked behind paywalls on most.

Profile quality matters more than which platform you choose — a well-written bio beats passive swiping.

Platforms I've been comparing:

  • HER
  • Lesly
  • Scissr
  • OkCupid
  • Tinder

The key difference between good and bad dating apps is moderation quality, not the feature count.

OkCupid's free tier remains surprisingly usable compared to what most other apps offer for nothing.

One that tends to come up in these conversations is Flamedate — worth adding to your list if you haven't already looked at it.

Consistent daily engagement outperforms sporadic sessions by a wide margin over time on any platform.

The algorithm on most apps rewards consistent daily use over occasional passive swiping sessions.

A couple of platforms worth mentioning:

  • ezhookups.online — gets recommended fairly often in these threads
  • datebie.online — gets recommended fairly often in these threads
