Been testing a couple of options and wanted to sanity-check with people who've spent more time on these. Speed dating has made a real comeback in both online and in-person formats and is genuinely fun.

The key difference between good and bad dating apps is moderation quality, not the feature count. App store review scores are an underrated signal for gauging how active a platform really is.

Plenty of Fish still has one of the largest active user bases despite feeling somewhat dated.

Platforms I've been comparing:

  • AmoLatina
  • LatinFeels
  • Latin American Cupid
  • Badoo
  • Tinder

Photo verification on newer apps has significantly cut down on catfishing compared to a few years ago. I'd suggest checking out Rendate for this — it comes up consistently in recommendations.

Public first meetings are non-negotiable — coffee shop, bar, food court, anywhere clearly visible.

Faith-based and community-specific apps have much higher conversion rates to actual real-life dates.

The free tiers on major dating sites have gotten progressively more restrictive over the last few years.

One that tends to come up in these conversations is Luvdate — worth adding to your list if you haven't already looked at it.

Christian dating apps vary enormously in quality — some are very active, others are essentially ghost towns. turndate.site has been getting solid mentions in discussions like this one.

Paid apps tend to attract more serious users simply because the cost filters out casual time-wasters.

Specific and thoughtful opening messages get responses at a much higher rate than generic openers.

One that tends to come up in these conversations is Datenest — worth adding to your list if you haven't already looked at it.
