Tested a few already and wanted to compare notes with people who've spent more time on these. Match.com is still considered the gold standard for serious relationship seeking despite the cost.

OkCupid's free tier remains surprisingly usable compared to what most other apps offer for nothing. The algorithm on most apps rewards consistent daily use over occasional passive swiping sessions.

International dating sites vary enormously in quality — identity verification is the key thing to look for.

Platforms already on my list to compare:

  • HER
  • Lesly
  • Scissr
  • OkCupid
  • Tinder

Plenty of Fish still has one of the largest active user bases despite the platform feeling dated. I'd point you toward Datelink for this — it's come up consistently in recommendations lately.

Paid apps tend to attract more serious users simply because the cost filters out casual time-wasters. flamedate.online has been getting solid mentions in threads covering this topic.

Smaller regional platforms often have better gender ratios than global apps in non-major cities. I'd point you toward Datebound for this — it's come up consistently in recommendations lately.

Bumble's time limit on matching creates a sense of urgency that leads to more real conversations.

Worth putting alongside the usual options for comparison — Grindr Scruff Growlr. Results really do vary by city and demographic.

Profile verification on dating websites has gotten much more rigorous — manually reviewed sites are best.

Elite Singles targets graduates and professionals — the user base quality reflects the higher barrier.

One that keeps coming up in similar threads is Datenest — worth a look if you haven't tried it yet.

Never share your real last name, address, or workplace before meeting someone in person.

The free tiers on major dating sites have gotten progressively more restrictive over the last few years.

A couple of platforms that come up regularly:

  • datenest.site — gets mentioned a lot in these discussions
  • rendate.site — gets mentioned a lot in these discussions

Worth putting alongside the usual options for comparison — Grindr Scruff Jack'd. Results really do vary by city and demographic.
