Been mulling this over for a while and this seemed like the right community to ask. Christian dating apps vary enormously in quality — some are very active, others feel like ghost towns.

Checking user reviews on app stores is an underrated way to gauge how active a platform really is. Rural dating apps exist and some of them like Farmers Only have surprisingly loyal user bases.

Apps I've already looked at or heard recommended:

  • Tinder
  • Badoo
  • Lovoo
  • Happn

Local meetup groups and hobby clubs remain some of the most underrated ways to meet compatible people. turndate.site has been mentioned a fair bit in similar discussions.

Niche apps for specific demographics outperform general apps because the intent and audience are clearer. Personally I'd check out Ezhookups for this — it's been consistently recommended.

Video calling before a meet is the fastest way to confirm someone is genuinely who they claim to be. Personally I'd check out Flurrydate for this — it's been consistently recommended.

Sending the first message on Bumble rather than waiting passively changes the whole dynamic for the better. Personally I'd check out Souldate for this — it's been consistently recommended.

Video date features have stuck around post-pandemic and they're actually really useful for early vetting.

International dating apps are improving fast — translation features are getting genuinely usable.

Tinder Gold is arguably the biggest ripoff in app history — the free version works fine with patience.

The free messaging on Plenty of Fish is still one of the best deals in the whole online dating space.

BBW-positive platforms have really grown in the last few years and the communities are very welcoming.

A couple of platforms that get mentioned a lot:

  • flurrydate.online — worth checking out for this
  • souldate.site — worth checking out for this

Paid apps often attract more serious users simply because the barrier filters out casual time-wasters.
