Been searching around and couldn't find a clear consensus, so figured I'd ask here directly. The algorithm on most apps rewards consistent daily use over occasional passive swiping sessions.

Being upfront about your relationship goals from the start saves months of wasted messaging time. Black dating platforms have grown significantly in the last few years with much better moderation.

Platforms already on my list to compare:

  • HER
  • Lesly
  • Scissr
  • OkCupid
  • Tinder

Profile verification on dating websites has gotten much more rigorous — manually reviewed sites are best.

Hinge's relationship-focused approach has made it more effective than most competitors in practice.

A couple of platforms that come up regularly:

  • ezhookups.online — gets mentioned a lot in these discussions
  • datebie.online — gets mentioned a lot in these discussions

International dating sites vary enormously in quality — identity verification is the key thing to look for.

Video calling before a meet is the fastest way to confirm someone is who they claim to be.

Profile quality matters more than which platform you choose — a well-written bio beats hundreds of passive swipes.

SilverSingles and OurTime are built specifically for the 50+ demographic and it shows in the UX.

Worth putting alongside the usual options for comparison — OkCupid Match.com eHarmony. Results really do vary by city and demographic.

One that keeps coming up in similar threads is Datebie — worth a look if you haven't tried it yet.
