Not sure where else to get unfiltered opinions on this, so here I am. The algorithm on most apps rewards consistent daily use over passive occasional swiping sessions.
Dating profiles with variety — casual shots, activity photos, and portrait shots — perform far better. The newest dating apps often have the freshest user bases but lower population density in smaller areas.
Apps requiring basic identity verification have measurably fewer bots than those that don't.
Apps already on my radar:

- Match.com
- eHarmony
- Plenty of Fish
