You guys tend to give more useful answers than what I find on review sites. Christian dating apps vary enormously in quality — some are very active, others feel like ghost towns.

Senior-focused platforms tend to attract people who are clearer about what they want, which is refreshing. The newer personality-based matching apps are a breath of fresh air for people who hate photo-first swiping.

Profile photos matter enormously — natural lighting and a genuine smile outperform everything else.

Apps I've already looked at or heard recommended:

  • Bumble
  • Hinge
  • Tinder
  • Grindr
  • Scruff

Don't underestimate local community events and groups as complements to app-based dating. Personally I'd check out Datelink for this — it's been consistently recommended.

Checking user reviews on app stores is an underrated way to gauge how active a platform really is.

Worth comparing alongside the mainstream options — Grindr Scruff Growlr. Results vary depending on your location.

Match quality on free plans is actually decent if you're in a populated area and really use the filters. Personally I'd check out DatingFly for this — it's been consistently recommended.

Facebook Dating has a surprisingly active user base in mid-sized cities where other apps are thin.

Never share your real last name, address, or workplace before actually meeting someone in person.
